What CaseSift is
A Chrome extension for UK solicitors that analyses the content of a Gmail message you explicitly choose to triage. It extracts facts, classifies the case type, scores viability, and drafts a reply.
What data CaseSift handles
On your machine (never leaves your browser)
- Your Claude API key (stored in
chrome.storage.sync). - Your firm settings: firm name, specialisms, accepted case types, decline policy.
- A local history of triages (up to the 200 most recent) containing sender email, subject, case type, viability score, and action taken. Stored in
chrome.storage.local.
Sent to Anthropic (Claude API)
When you click "Triage with CaseSift" on a specific email, the subject, sender email, body of that email, and your firm's triage criteria are sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's Claude API at api.anthropic.com, using your own API key. CaseSift does not see, store, or proxy this data.
Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
Sent to CaseSift servers
Nothing. CaseSift has no backend service receiving your triage data at this time. If subscription verification moves server-side in future, we will update this policy and only exchange the minimum data needed (a subscription token, never email content).
What we do NOT do
- Log, store, or analyse the emails you triage.
- Sell or share data with third parties.
- Use your data to train models.

Your rights under UK GDPR

- Request any data we hold by emailing support@casesift.co. At present we hold no server-side data on you.
Security

- The extension requests minimum permissions:
storage, activeTab,scripting, and host permissions limited tomail.google.comandapi.anthropic.com.
